Rebuilt to understand
I rebuild tools I depend on, in small versions, to learn why they're built the way they are.
What I've built
- Redis in Go. redis-cli connects to it and doesn't notice the difference. I wrote the protocol parser, the storage and the commands by hand.
- A load balancer in Bun, with auto-scaling, health checks, routing and live monitoring. I learned more about connection handling from it than from a year of configuring someone else's.
- cqrs, the read and write split from Tixin, as its own repo.
- go-grpc-micro: account, catalog and order services over gRPC behind a GraphQL gateway, on PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.
- An SFU on mediasoup, for multi-party video. Mesh topologies fall over there, and building an SFU shows you why.
- OsU, a small operating system in C.
