Veris

A photo I took was real, and a lot of people decided it was AI. I had no way to prove them wrong. Veris is the camera I built so that never happens again: the proof is made inside the camera, at the moment of capture, instead of anyone trying to detect fakes afterwards.

The Veris prototype, a 3D-printed unit with a camera and a vent, clipped to the back of a phone.

How it works

  1. The camera takes the photo.
  2. A key rooted in the device's TPM signs it, so trust starts in the hardware.
  3. A Groth16 zero-knowledge proof anchors that signature on Ethereum as an ERC-1155.
  4. The evidence is stored on Filecoin and IPFS.

Speed

From capture to an on-chain check takes under a second.

Where it is

A working prototype in three forms: a clip that attaches to a phone, a hot-shoe module for cameras and a standalone camera. The code is public.

The standalone camera made the top 14 of 85,000+ teams at the Google Solution Challenge 2026.

I'm looking for pre-seed funding to take Veris further.

During my research internship at LPU I also contributed to a filed patent on hardware-anchored attestation for AI agent decisions.
